I Guess This Must be the Place » Goat

To be perfectly honest, when I first created Goat, he was a dude. But everyone who saw him – and I mean everyone – said ‘her’ and ‘she’, so now Goat is a lovely lady for real. To explain the posture and the background, Goat is a grotesque; that is, she’s a gargoyle that doesn’t spew water (gargoyles are built on the outside of churches to conceal waterspouts, grotesques are just statues of strange and often ugly creatures. I am fond of them.) Instead of being stone, Goat is magically imbued with life. She is the sister and friend of my other grotesque, Whither. They lived together in a European church before being seperated in a move to America. I plan on painting Whither… eventually.

Ooohohh, really nice! Awesome job with the painting. 😀
I especially like the colors, and the background really adds to the whole piece. 🙂

nice. and now that you’ve made it intentionally female you’ve got your first person who thought it was male until the description was read (go me 😛 ). also, just because of the church setting and the ram horns it brings back delightfully nostalgic memories from playing final fantasy tactics.
